Home selling advice in a slow market

Today on Eyewitness News we talked about home selling tips.  There are things to avoid if your home is one the market.  Some experts say avoid big remodeling jobs in the kitchen and do not replace the flooring.  The reason?  You may not get enough of your investment back to make it pay.  There are some improvements that make sense.  Replacing windows and updating a bathroom will return a large percentage of the cost at sale time.

Here is a list of improvement projects and how much they will return when your home sells.

If your home is not selling, make sure it is not overpriced for the neighborhood.  The Houston Association of Realtors has information on every neighborhood in our area.
