    Franklin Bank Phising Scam

    Seems like scammers are at it again, this time using the name of Franklin Bank.

    Here's an email going around that sounds great!

    Oh, it's a scam...who'd a thunk it?

    Stay safe, never click on a link e-mailed o you by a bank.  That's not how they operate, same goes for IRS e-mail, it's a scam too.

    Free Tax Help

    If you do not normally file a tax return, you will need to do it this year.  The reason is the Economic Stimulus check.  You can not get one if you do not file a tax return.  You can learn all about the stimulus check and get free help on filing a return at the IRS web site, www.irs.gov/

    If you need help filing your taxes but do not know where to turn for help, try the National Association of Tax Professionals web site.

    Click on “find a tax professional” and you’ll get a list of federally licensed tax specialists and C-P-A’s in our area.

    Extended Car Warranties

    Today on Eyewitness News at four, we talked about extended car warranties.  Consumer Reports readers survey found many people did not get their value out of the plans.

    On average Consumer Reports found the extended warranties cost about $1,000 and on average drivers got $700 worth of repairs.
