Contractor Trouble

   The Hurricane Ike anniversary is right around the corner, but for many people the storm is still disrupting their lives.

   We spoke with a Galveston Island resident today who still is not back in her home even though she hired a contractor to fix things.

  The man she hired took money and did some work, but left with most of the home in disrepair.

   Protecting yourself from home contractor trouble is not easy, but Lone Star Legal Aid is holding a meeting to help keep you from getting into a big mess.

   The meeting is tonight at the Crystal Beach Church of Christ on Bolivar Peninsula.

   That's on Highway 87 at Alma.  The meeting starts at 6:30.

   If you can;t make it to that meeting, more should be scheduled on the island int eh future.
